|Subject:||Search for the New Dean of the Keck School of Medicine of USC|
We are pleased to announce that we have appointed a search committee to identify and recruit the next dean to lead the Keck School of Medicine of USC. We will be co-chairing the committee and the complete roster follows this memo.
This committee is assembled to help us select the very best candidate for the Keck School and guide the school in its mission to improve the quality of life for individuals and society by promoting health, preventing and curing disease, advancing biomedical research, and educating tomorrow’s physicians and scientists.
As the search moves forward, we will follow the same procedures that have been observed in other dean searches. The committee will review nominations, conduct interviews, and advise us on finalists. Those who are asked to interview the final candidates will be invited to send their comments regarding the strengths and possible weaknesses of these candidates to us directly and confidentially.
To assist us in this important search, we have engaged the executive search firm Issacson, Miller; David Bellshaw is our primary consultant. We will follow up soon with additional information about how you can provide your nominations and input, and we will keep you informed of progress. You can also follow updates at our dean search website: https://deansearch.usc.edu.
The Search Advisory Committee will host listening sessions for Keck faculty, staff, and students. We hope you will join and share your feedback regarding what the next dean of the Keck School will need to be successful.
